This innovative technology supports Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) applications, allowing electric vehicles to power private residences, store surplus solar energy for evening use, and provide crucial backup during power outages. Furthermore, Ambibox's solutions extend to Vehicle-to-Building (V2B) scenarios, where electric cars act as dynamic energy buffers for commercial buildings, optimizing energy costs through peak shaving and bolstering supply security by supplementing solar power.

The company is also a key player in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) initiatives, which involve electric cars feeding energy back into the public power grid. A notable active project includes the Stenberg pilot in Sweden, initiated in 2024, which successfully demonstrated V2H and V2G capabilities with 8 VW ID. vehicles and 5 ambiCHARGE wallboxes, in partnership with Energy Bank and Vattenfall, with plans for expansion to 200 wallboxes at VW dealerships.
