C-Green Technology AB converts wet biowaste (sludge) into HTC biocoal (hydrochar) through hydrothermal carbonization. This process creates a dry, sustainable carbon product that is sterile, odorless, easy to handle and store, with greatly reduced volume and mass compared to untreated sludge. HTC biocoal has multiple applications including use as a carbon sink, biofuel, fertilizer, and for soil improvement. The technology eliminates greenhouse gas emissions from sludge, reduces transport volumes by up to 80%, increases nutrient recovery, and destroys pathogens, offering a climate-smart and cost-saving solution for sludge handling.
