ITG (Instituto Tecnológico de Galicia) is a leading technology center in Galicia, Spain, specializing in digitalization and energy sustainability. It recently expanded its capabilities through the absorption of EnergyLab, becoming a pivotal entity committed to decarbonization through the efficient and sustainable use of resources. The center focuses on driving energy efficiency and sustainability by developing innovative projects across a broad spectrum of research and development areas.

Its core R&D+i lines encompass Bioenergy, Industry, Urban Ecosystems, Energy Technologies, and Circular Economy. Within these areas, ITG explores advanced topics such as positive energy buildings and districts, energy communities, and the optimization of renewable thermal generation systems. The institute is also deeply involved in cutting-edge fields like energy storage, digital industry applications including Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, and sophisticated mathematical simulation and modeling for environmental solutions.

Furthermore, ITG's expertise extends to industrial thermal efficiency, various bioenergy routes like anaerobic digestion for biogas and biohydrogen production, and thermochemical valorization for syngas and hydrogen. The center is a key player in the nascent hydrogen economy, researching electrochemical production, storage, transport, and distribution of hydrogen and other renewable gases, as well as their integration into alternative fuels and hybrid propulsion systems.
