Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) is the esteemed Dutch national research institute dedicated to advancing mathematics and computer science. The institute conducts pioneering fundamental research across four critical areas: Algorithms, Data and Intelligent Systems, Cryptography and Security, and Quantum Computing. Through these efforts, CWI generates new knowledge and actively transfers its findings to both society and industry, fostering innovation and progress.

CWI is deeply committed to academic collaboration, maintaining close ties with Dutch universities. This includes active participation in semester programmes, engagement in joint research initiatives, and a robust exchange of scientific talent, with over thirty CWI researchers holding part-time appointments at various Dutch universities. The institute's research endeavors are structured into 15 specialized research groups, ensuring focused and in-depth exploration of its core scientific disciplines.
