CharIN (Charging Interface Initiative e. V.) is a cross-industry, global, non-profit organization that brings together stakeholders like automakers, charging station manufacturers, component suppliers, energy providers, and grid operators. Its purpose is to drive the development and adoption of interoperable charging solutions for e-mobility, ensuring vehicles, chargers, and software systems work together seamlessly. CharIN's holistic approach extends beyond passenger cars to commercial vehicles, marine, and other heavy-duty applications, focusing on standards like the Combined Charging System (CCS) and Megawatt Charging System (MCS), and defining requirements for their evolution and product certification.
