Energiforsk, the Swedish Energy Research Centre, is an industrially owned organization dedicated to addressing the complex energy challenges faced by industries, authorities, and society at large. As a politically neutral entity, it strives for objectivity in all its endeavors, initiating, coordinating, and conducting robust research and analysis within the energy sector. The center disseminates knowledge to foster a resilient, sustainable, and competitive energy system, primarily based on its own research activities.

The organization plays a pivotal role in advancing the energy landscape by developing innovative solutions for energy storage, contributing to the establishment of fossil-free transportation systems, and formulating new market models for the heat and power sectors. Its extensive research scope encompasses critical areas such as electricity grids, comprehensive energy systems, nuclear power, solar and wind energy, hydropower, and heat and cooling solutions. Energiforsk also focuses on developing new materials and enhancing grid regulation to support modern energy infrastructure.

Energiforsk actively manages approximately 30 distinct research programs, many of which are undertaken in collaboration with key governmental bodies like the Swedish Energy Agency. Beyond its core research, the center offers a range of services including specialized research and analysis, business intelligence, outreach initiatives, and fostering international cooperation. Its diverse client base includes energy companies, heavy industries, high-tech entrepreneurial firms, government authorities, consultancy companies, and academic institutions, all benefiting from its knowledge dissemination aimed at making the energy world smarter.
