In the energy sector, Eren Holding boasts a total electricity generation capacity of 2,790 MW, producing 19 billion kWh annually, which meets 6% of Turkey's electricity needs. This includes the Zonguldak Eren Thermal Power Plant (ZETES), the Medcem Solid Waste Incineration Plant (27.6 MW, Turkey's first), and the Modern Biomass Power Plant (6 MW).
Sustainability and Innovation Eren Holding prioritizes environmentally friendly technologies across all its investments and champions the support of education for a sustainable society. The company is committed to integrating advanced environmental practices, such as high-tech flue gas treatment systems at its Eren Energy Power Plant to comply with EU directives, and being the first in Turkey to install a Nitrogen Oxide Treatment Facility at a coal-fired thermal plant. Furthermore, its paper and packaging operations utilize 100% waste paper, preventing the felling of 17 million trees annually, and implement advanced wastewater treatment for reclamation. Eren Holding also manages port operations in Zonguldak and Mersin, with an annual capacity exceeding 20 million tons, and operates one of Europe's largest cement factories with a 6.5 million-ton clinker production capacity on a single line.
