GeoAlaska LLC is an Alaskan-based company dedicated to developing the state's significant geothermal energy resources, focusing on delivering long-term energy security for the Railbelt grid. Established in May 2020, the company aims to harness the untapped geothermal potential from active stratovolcanoes like Mount Spurr and Mount Augustine, which are closely monitored by the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO).

The company holds permits for geothermal development at both Mount Spurr, located approximately 130 kilometers west of Anchorage, and Mount Augustine, situated on Augustine Island in the Cook Inlet. Mount Spurr has been identified with an estimated potential for up to 120 MW of electricity generation. While Mount Augustine's potential is less studied for direct production, it shows promising geological formations indicative of a geothermal reservoir.

Geothermal energy offers a clean, sustainable, and reliable source of 24/7 baseload power, which is crucial for the stability and reliability of the electrical grid. Unlike intermittent renewable sources such as solar and wind, geothermal can operate continuously, providing a constant power supply regardless of weather conditions or time of day. By developing these resources, GeoAlaska LLC seeks to reduce the region's reliance on fossil fuels and provide a consistent energy supply to over 65% of Alaskans connected by the Railbelt grid, addressing growing energy demands with a sustainable solution.
