Green Hydrogen Coalition: Accelerating Multi-Sectoral Decarbonization

The Green Hydrogen Coalition (GHC) is a prominent 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2019, exclusively dedicated to accelerating the deployment of green hydrogen solutions on a large scale. Its primary objective is to facilitate multi-sectoral decarbonization across North America, addressing critical environmental and energy challenges. The GHC positions green hydrogen as a crucial greenhouse gas-free energy source capable of transforming and decarbonizing a wide array of sectors, including power generation, transportation, industry, agriculture, and mining.

The core of GHC's work revolves around three key pillars: education, coalition building, and market development for green hydrogen. Through its educational initiatives, GHC provides comprehensive resources such as the Green Hydrogen Guidebook, offering in-depth insights into production, distribution, safety, applications, economic value, and the regulatory landscape. Additionally, the organization manages a Consumer Education initiative, including the gh2forclimate.org platform, which aims to provide objective, accessible information to the public, foster trust, and dispel common misconceptions about green hydrogen.

GHC's initiatives are strategically designed to drive policy and market development within the North American green hydrogen ecosystem. Notable programs include HyBuild North America, which encompasses workstreams like Contracts, HyBuild Carolinas, and HyBuild Los Angeles, all focused on regional green hydrogen infrastructure and market advancement. The organization also actively engages in policy and regulatory services, evidenced by its reports and webinars on critical topics such as the 45V production tax credit.

By uniting stakeholders, advocating for supportive policies, and disseminating expert knowledge, the Green Hydrogen Coalition plays a pivotal role in accelerating the transition to a sustainable, hydrogen-based energy future.
