HyCologne – Wasserstoff Region Rheinland e.V. is a leading network established in 2007, committed to promoting hydrogen as a crucial energy carrier for climate protection and economic development within the Rhenish Region. The association effectively connects over 55 key stakeholders, including representatives from the public sector, industry, and research institutions, all united by the conviction that hydrogen is indispensable for achieving ambitious climate goals. HyCologne serves as a central hub for bundling diverse expertise, aiming to significantly improve the market readiness and economic viability of hydrogen technologies throughout the region.

Driving Hydrogen Innovation and Regional Impact The organization actively initiates and guides large-scale projects, fostering public-private partnerships to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen solutions. From its modest beginnings, utilizing byproduct hydrogen for fuel cell buses, HyCologne has helped the Rhenish Region achieve a leading position in hydrogen-powered public transport across Europe. Although its primary focus is regional, HyCologne maintains robust national and European networks, enhancing its influence and collaborative potential.
