Icarus RT is a climatetech startup transforming solar energy by capturing both electricity and the waste heat typically lost in photovoltaic (PV) systems. Our patented Quartet technology combines a microchannel heat exchanger with bio-based nanoparticles to deliver dual outputs: clean electricity and stored thermal energy. This hybrid approach improves system efficiency, resilience, and ROI while addressing key global challenges—carbon emissions, energy poverty, and electrification barriers. To expand access to clean energy in colder regions, we developed Icarus Cold Solar, a high-performance thermal solution designed for U.S. climate zones 4–7. Unlike traditional solar thermal systems, Cold Solar maintains output in low ambient temperatures and limited sunlight, making solar a viable year-round solution in regions previously considered unsuitable for solar thermal adoption.
