Koehler Renewable Energy (KRE) is a subsidiary of the Koehler Group, established in 2012, dedicated to realizing and operating renewable energy projects in Germany and internationally. The company specializes in a diverse portfolio including wind power, photovoltaics, hydroelectric power, biomass, and combined heat and power (CHP) generation. KRE manages the entire value chain from project acquisition and planning to development and long-term operation, leveraging its experts' extensive experience.
With over 20 renewable energy sites, KRE contributes significantly to sustainable energy production. As of 2024, its operations generate approximately 270,886 MWh of electric power and 597,075 MWh of steam and hot water annually from renewable sources. The company plays a crucial role in the Koehler Group's broader sustainability objective to produce more renewable energy than required for its paper production by 2030, aiming for an 80% reduction in the Group's Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by the same year.
