New Energy Blue is an innovative design, build, and operate bio-conversion company leading the transition towards a world powered by green energy in harmony with nature's carbon cycle. The company has developed the New Energy Biomass Refinery™, an advanced bio-based platform engineered to replace fossil fuels and chemicals. This proprietary technology efficiently converts diverse annual agricultural residues and energy grasses, such as corn stover, wheat straw, barley, sugar bagasse, and miscanthus, into a range of high-value, low-carbon renewables for various zero-carbon markets.
At the core of New Energy Blue's operations is the acquired and continuously developed Inbicon™ technology, which facilitates the processing of botanical waste into second-generation cellulosic ethanol and clean lignin. These outputs serve as foundational elements for a broad spectrum of sustainable products, including low-carbon automotive and jet fuels, bio-based plastics, asphalt road binders, textiles, lubricants, and potentially even carbon fiber. The company emphasizes a clean, enclosed-loop refining process that minimizes water usage and ensures environmental stewardship.
New Energy Blue is actively establishing its first U.S. biomass refinery, "New Energy Freedom," in Mason City, Iowa, slated for commissioning in late 2025 or early 2026, with plans for four additional, larger facilities. A significant initiative includes the formation of New Energy Chemicals in Port Lavaca, Texas, dedicated to converting cellulosic ethanol into bioethylene for Dow's plant-based plastics and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for airlines. Through these large-scale operations, New Energy Blue projects a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions, aiming to prevent over one million tons of fossil CO2 annually from its initial five refineries, contributing significantly to global decarbonization goals and infusing economic vitality into rural communities.
