NUWARD is a dedicated subsidiary of the EDF Group, leveraging EDF's extensive 60 years of global experience in nuclear technology to develop a reliable and competitive Small Modular Reactor (SMR) solution. Designed in Europe for global application, NUWARD SMR is a multi-energy platform built upon proven Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) technology and a well-established fuel cycle. It aims to deliver competitive, low-carbon heat and electricity, specifically targeting the replacement of high CO2-emitting coal, fuel, oil, and gas plants worldwide.

This innovative SMR is capable of producing up to 400 MWe and 115 MWth, offering versatility beyond electricity generation. Its design supports various applications crucial for a sustainable energy future, including hydrogen production, urban and district heating, and desalination. NUWARD SMR's development is backed by a robust industry network and the skilled contributions of committed European partners, ensuring a safe product that meets evolving market expectations and needs.
