Renasci is an innovative company dedicated to transforming waste management by addressing the critical global challenge of waste disposal, which traditionally relies heavily on incineration and landfilling. Recognizing the pressing ecological, economical, and regulatory demands, particularly from the European Union for higher plastic waste recycling rates, Renasci has developed a groundbreaking solution: Smart Chain Processing®. This unique method is engineered to convert various waste streams into valuable raw materials and renewable energy, achieving an impressive 78% energy recovery and yielding 100% reusable materials and immediately usable products, all without generating any residual waste. The entire process is notably energy-independent, drawing all necessary power from the waste itself.

Initially, Renasci’s Smart Chain Processing produced outputs such as EN590 diesel and biocoal, marking a significant transition from a linear to a truly circular economy model. Since 2024, the company has intensified its focus on the Plastic to Chemicals (PtC) process, a thermal conversion technology specifically designed to transform non-recyclable plastics into high-quality feedstock. This feedstock is then utilized for the production of virgin plastics, effectively closing the loop on plastic waste and preventing it from entering landfills or incinerators.

The sustainability of Renasci's operations is underscored by its ISCC PLUS certification, validating its commitment to sustainable feedstocks and materials. The company’s test plant in Ostend, Belgium, commissioned in Q1 2019 and operational by Q4 2020, has been instrumental in refining these advanced processes and equipment. As of 2023, Renasci operates as a proud member of the Borealis Group, having been acquired by Borealis as a key component of its comprehensive Circular Economy Solutions strategy, further solidifying its position in the advanced waste valorization sector.
