The Technical Education for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project (TEREEE) is a pivotal initiative dedicated to transforming technical education across Egypt. This project is significantly supported by the KFW - German Development Bank, with co-funding from the European Union, and operates in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE). Its implementation is overseen by GOPA Infra, ensuring a structured approach to achieving its ambitious goals.
Running from March 2022 to March 2026, TEREEE is committed to elevating the quality of education and broadening employment prospects for young adults in Egypt. The project's strategy involves the establishment of specialized Centres of Competence in key regions such as Menia, Aswan, and Sharqiya. A core component of its work includes modernizing Technical Secondary Schools by integrating advanced solar energy systems, thereby providing students with practical, market-relevant vocational training in renewable energy.
Furthermore, TEREEE promotes a 3+2 educational model, designed to ensure a seamless progression through technical studies. It emphasizes the development and deployment of digitized learning content, alongside fostering robust participation from the private sector to ensure educational programs align with industry demands. Through these focused interventions, TEREEE is not only revolutionizing the technical education landscape but also playing a crucial role in supporting Egypt's national objectives for sustainable development and its transition towards a greener energy future, preparing a skilled workforce equipped for the challenges and opportunities of the energy sector.
