The Natrium reactor utilizes liquid metal for heat transfer, allowing for low-pressure, naturally cooling operations that enhance safety and simplify design compared to conventional plants. Its integrated molten salt energy storage system provides unparalleled grid flexibility, ensuring a stable electricity supply even when intermittent renewables are offline, and enables rapid power increases up to 500 MW electric at 10% per minute.

The Natrium technology offers significant advantages, including a 345 MWe capacity, scalable to 500 MWe, with over 5 hours of energy storage. It boasts 3x better fuel utilization than light water reactors, produces 40% less waste, and delivers high-quality steam exceeding 500ºC for industrial applications, supporting decarbonization. The simplified plant design results in lower construction and operational costs, with an estimated 50% reduction in safety-related concrete, steel, and labor, facilitating rapid construction times of approximately 36 months from concrete pour to fuel load. Currently, the first Natrium plant is under construction in Wyoming, marking a significant step towards a balanced and sustainable energy future.
