Turbulent is a green-tech company specializing in the development of damless, eco-friendly hydropower turbines. Founded in 2015, the company addresses the global demand for green energy by transforming rivers and canals with small height differences into reliable, continuous renewable power sources. Its innovative technology is inspired by nature, utilizing vortex principles to generate energy without harming local ecosystems, ensuring fish and debris can pass through unharmed, which also contributes to low maintenance requirements.

Turbulent's solution removes the inherent complexity often associated with hydropower, offering a robust and scalable system suitable for various applications. A single turbine unit can generate between 15 kW and 90 kW of constant energy, while interconnected low-head hydropower plants can scale up to multiple megawatts, capable of electrifying entire regions. The turbines are designed for easy installation worldwide and feature remote monitoring capabilities, enabling local development and maintenance.

With an estimated 350,000 untapped potential sites in Europe alone, Turbulent empowers businesses, communities, and national grids with resilient and cost-efficient hydroelectric energy. The company employs a 'Living Rivers™' sustainability approach, which not only minimizes environmental impact but also aims to improve river quality and benefit local communities through training and technology transfer, all while ensuring zero CO2 emissions.
