The Electrochemical Safety Institute (ESRI) is particularly relevant to the power systems and energy industry, focusing on advancing the safer design and deployment of energy storage and energy generation technologies through scientific inquiry. This includes extensive research on lithium-ion batteries, characterizing sodium-ion batteries, and developing best practices for designing, installing, and maintaining safer battery energy storage systems, as well as proactively addressing fire safety concerns related to these critical technologies.
