Empowering Large-Scale EV Deployment through Comprehensive Charging Infrastructure
Voltera specializes in developing, owning, and operating critical charging infrastructure, specifically designed to enable companies to deploy and manage electric vehicles (EVs) at scale. The company tackles the pressing challenges faced by businesses in transitioning to electrified fleets, which often include the scarcity of appropriately located and timely charging infrastructure, alongside the complexities and significant capital investment required for siting, building, owning, and operating these facilities.
With substantial equity backing from EQT, a leading global private equity firm, Voltera is executing a multi-billion-dollar plan to acquire, develop, own, and operate essential charging hubs. Its comprehensive suite of services covers the entire lifecycle of EV charging infrastructure, encompassing site identification and acquisition, power procurement, facility design and construction, EVSE hardware deployment, and continuous operations and maintenance. This integrated approach is delivered through a 'Charging Infrastructure as a Service' model, ensuring reliability and offloading CapEx from its clients.
Voltera serves a broad spectrum of clients across various sectors, including ridehail, autonomous vehicle (AV), drayage, middle-mile, and last-mile fleets. Additionally, it partners with automotive manufacturers, branded charging networks, and energy companies to facilitate their electrification goals. By providing SLA-guaranteed reliability and removing the burden of upfront capital expenditures, Voltera enables businesses to concentrate on their core operations and decarbonization initiatives, ensuring maximized vehicle uptime and a superior charging experience. The company currently has 20 sites and over 115 MW of charging capacity in development, representing an investment of $150 million into electrified sites.
