Clean Grid Alliance: Powering the Midwest's Clean Energy Transition

Clean Grid Alliance (CGA) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to spearheading the transformation of the electricity system across the Midwest. Its core mission revolves around establishing an energy infrastructure that is clean, cost-effective, and reliably powered by renewable sources. CGA strategically focuses on critical energy technologies including wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage, addressing the pressing challenges of energy transition through robust advocacy and technical expertise.

The organization operates extensively across the nine-state MISO North footprint and also engages in specific areas within MISO South, ensuring a broad and impactful regional presence. CGA leverages its deep technical knowledge to enhance transmission capacity, a vital component for integrating renewable energy, and to foster a robust and reliable electric grid throughout the Midwest. Its advocacy efforts are channeled through state legislatures, regulatory commissions, and directly with the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), influencing policy to accelerate the deployment of clean energy infrastructure.

For two decades, Clean Grid Alliance has effectively united a diverse consortium of nonprofit and for-profit interests, driving substantial progress in the clean energy sector. The organization operates on a membership-supported model, fostering strong collaborations with its partners and members by sharing strategic insights, critical information, and collective action plans. This collaborative approach empowers all stakeholders to collectively advance toward a future powered predominantly by clean, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions.
