Damstra Lab, officially known as Prof. Ir. Damstra Laboratory, is a specialized independent test institute dedicated to the rigorous validation of electrical switchgear and controlgear. The laboratory's core competence lies in its ability to meticulously translate complex national and international product standards into highly reliable and accurate test setups, which is critical for ensuring product success and compliance within the global power systems industry.

Operating with advanced facilities, the institute offers a comprehensive suite of testing services tailored to a wide array of electrical components and systems. Its high current test laboratory is equipped with a powerful short-circuit generator capable of evaluating short-circuit behavior, current withstand capabilities over specific durations, and critical arc characteristics. For low voltage applications, the facility provides extensive electrical and mechanical tests on circuit breakers and contactors, leveraging two short-circuit transformers supplied directly from a 10 kV grid.

Beyond electrical performance, Damstra Lab conducts thorough climate testing in specialized cabinets to accurately simulate diverse environmental conditions, including variations in humidity and temperature. The institute also possesses robust capabilities for dielectric testing at medium voltage levels, precisely assessing the insulating properties of critical equipment.
