Their advanced processing and upgrading solutions offer 20-30% lower electricity consumption than existing technologies, resulting in lower production prices than advanced biofuels. The company has secured a strategic site at Herøya, equipped with essential utilities like cooling water and cheap renewable electricity, alongside readily available processing expertise, boasting about the same source-to-shaft efficiency as hydrogen but with much lower total CAPEX due to no investment in distribution systems and engines.

Nordic Electrofuel is actively expanding its global footprint through strategic partnerships. Recent collaborations include Memorandums of Understanding with Hydrom in Oman and with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Jump in Saudi Arabia, aiming to establish large-scale e-SAF production facilities. The company is also collaborating with P2X Europe, a joint venture of Mabanaft and H&R Group, on the production and commercialization of synthetic fuels, and has secured a substantial EUR 40 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund to support its e-SAF pilot plant in Norway, scheduled for commissioning in 2026. This collaborative approach, also involving financial investors and aviation companies advised by Societe Generale, is crucial for scaling e-fuel technologies and achieving net-zero air travel.
