The Ukrainian Hydrogen Association (UHA) serves as a pivotal national energy association dedicated to advancing the hydrogen economy in Ukraine and globally. As a recognized member of prominent international bodies such as HYDROGEN EUROPE, Stakeholder CertifHy, and the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance/Partnership, UHA plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration and innovation. It is also a co-founder of The Baltic Sea Hydrogen Council (BaSeH2), a collaborative initiative uniting key stakeholders across the Baltic Sea region to drive the development of a clean hydrogen economy.

UHA’s primary objective is to unite industrial, engineering and construction, science and education sectors, along with other stakeholders, to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the hydrogen revolution. The association assists its members in acquiring vital knowledge and promoting their interests both within Ukraine and on the international stage. Their work extends to active involvement in legal policy, aiming to facilitate the conversion of Ukrainian cities towards hydrogen-based and green infrastructure, transport, and energy systems.

The association is deeply engaged in a variety of hydrogen activities. In H2 Mobility, UHA is promoting the production of Ukraine's first hydrogen bus in partnership with PTS, Ballard Power Systems, Worthington Industries, and the Latvian Hydrogen Association. Regarding H2 Legislative efforts, UHA participates in a Working Group of the Ukrainian Parliament, contributing to the harmonization of EU regulations and the development of a national H2 strategy, which has already led to the adoption of legislation introducing hydrogen and energy storage concepts into the energy system.

Furthermore, UHA contributes to H2 Public Governance by participating in the Ministry of Energy's Hydrogen Strategy Working Group and collaborating with the Ministry of Ecology on integrating climate neutrality principles into energy policies. In the realm of H2 Equipment, the association is collaborating with SMNPO-ENINEERING to develop practical hydrogen equipment production projects. Established as the Ukrainian Hydrogen Association in 2021, the organization continues to drive the integration of hydrogen solutions across various sectors, succeeding its previous focus that included energy storage.
